USA Today Top 25 Rankings Week 11: Texas Tech Red Raiders Keep Pressure on Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators Loom
The USA Today Week 11 Top 25 have been released and no surprise the Alabama Crimson Tide held their spot atop the poll while the Texas Tech Red Raiders continued their impressive run through the Big 12 and for the second straight week landed at #2 in the rankings.
Alabama took care of business on the road and beat the LSU Tiger son Saturday to lock up the SEC West and punch their ticket to the SEC Championship game later this year.
Texas Tech showed no letdown after topping the Texas Longhorns one week ago as Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree dismantled the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday to cement their spot at #2 this week, setting up a huge showdown in two weeks when they face the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Florida Gators continue to quietly position themselves for yet another national championship as they crushed Vanderbilt on Saturday to capture the SEC East title and set up a showdown with the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship. Now at #3, if the Gators win out thy will almost certainly be playing for the BCS title in Miami.
Moving up to #4 this week are the Oklahoma Sooners who could also find themselves in Miami if they win out. They destroyed Texas A&M on Saturday and have a huge home game in two weeks when they host the Red Raiders with Big 12 South title hopes on the line and a spot in the BCS title game.
