BCS Standings Week 11: Alabama Crimson Tide Hold Top Spot while Texas Tech Sits at No. 2

The BCS standings for Week 11 have been released and the Alabama Crimson Tide have held on to the top spot after an overtime victory over the LSU Tigers on Saturday.

Sitting just behind the Crimson Tide are the Texas Tech Red Raiders who topped the #1 Texas Longhorns two weeks ago and then dropped the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a blowout on Saturday to maintain their #2 ranking in the BCS standings.

At #3 the Texas Longhorns still remain a viable candidate for the BCS national title with the Big 12 South picture still needing to be determined.

The Florida Gators are sitting at #4 in this week’s BCS standings after dismantling Vanderbilt on Saturday to lock up the SEC East and setting up a showdown with Alabama in the SEC Championship later this year.

Rounding out the BCS Top 5 are the Oklahoma Sooners who destroyed Texas A&M on Saturday and could easily move into the national championship game if they could drop the Red Raiders in two weeks and find their way into the Big 12 championship game.

Coming in at #6 this week are the USC Trojans who topped California on Saturday but without a Pac-10 championship game the Trojans will find it difficult to reach the BCS national championship game.

With no losses on their record the Utah Utes have jumped to #7 in the most recent BCS standings and they are followed by Penn State at #8 who saw their season slip away with a loss to Iowa on Saturday.

The Boise State Broncos landed at #9 this week and the Georgia Bulldogs round out the BCS Top 10.
