NFL Scores Week 10: Indianapolis Colts Escape with Win Over Pittsburgh Steelers

Peyton Manning was 21/40 passing for 240 yards and three touchdowns, Reggie Wayne had six receptions for 114 yards and a TD and the Indianapolis Colts (5-4) defense picked off Ben Roethlisberger three times in a 24-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) on Sunday.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the opening quarter as Mewelde Moore put the Steelers ahead with a one-yard run but the Colts answered quickly as Manning and Wayne hooked up on a 65-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7-7.

Pittsburgh went back to Moore in the second quarter and he put them in front with his second one-yard TD run and after Jeff Reed hit a 42-yard field goal the Steelers were up 17-7. Indy responded with a late first half drive and with six seconds before halftime Manning hit Dallas Clark on a 2-yard toss.

Adam Vinatieri tied the score at 17-17 in the third quarter when he hit from 36-yards out but the Steelers countered with a 24-yard field goal from Reed halfway through the fourth. Indianapolis turned to Manning for one more drive late in the game and he brought the Colts down the field and eventually hit Dominic Rhodes on a 17-yard touchdown pass to move in front 24-20.

Roethlisberger had one more shot at getting the Steelers into the endzone but a costly holding penalty and a sack put Pittsburgh in poor field position and his last second fling to the endzone was picked off to end the game.
