At Least 28 Killed in Series of Bombings in Baghdad

Three bombs ripped through Iraq’s capital city of Baghdad killing at least 28 people and injuring more than 68.

 

The three bombs detonated just moments apart in the Shia area of Kasra during rush hour. According to reports two of the bombs were packed into cars while the third was carried by a suicide bomber who detonated his explosive in a crowd who had gathered to help those injured in the first two blasts.

 

Among those hit in the attack were a group of schoolgirls who were traveling in a minibus.
