Britain's Prince Edward thrilled children when he visited their youth organisation this week
The Earl of Wessex was treated to a dazzling show as he visited one of England's biggest youth organisations, The Hunslet Club in the Yorkshire city, to unveil a plaque marking its 70th anniversary.
The prince was shown a display of dance, music and sports skills during his trip, as well as watching some of the vocational learning workshops where the club's 380 young members can gain skills and qualifications towards employment.
Arts development worker Philippa Ranger said: "The children and young people were buzzing with excitement to dance and perform in front of royalty and will remember this day for the rest of their lives.
"Everyone worked very hard to make this event so special."
During his visit to Leeds, the Earl of Wessex also toured the new £12m home of Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance.
The centre has opened after a £10.7 million grant from Leeds City Council, the regional development agency Yorkshire Forward and the lottery-funded Arts Council.
