Video: Meredith Vieira Puts Matt Lauer's Divorce on Blast on NBC's "Today Show"

Matt Lauer, the famous Today Show anchor, had his divorce put on blast after co-anchor Meredith Vieira made a gaffe on Monday's edition.

Lauer and Vieira were introducing their segment on "the right age to get married" when Vieira slipped up and asked an inopportune question.

"When is the right age to get married," asked Lauer to Vieira. "I don't know," Vieira responded. "I got married in my 30s. When did you get married?"

"Ah...," replied Lauer as Vieira busted out laughing, even prompting a person behind the camera to yell "Nice!"

Lauer had his first marriage to Nancy Alspaugh, whom he married in 1982, result in divorce in 1989, while his current wife Annette Roque filed for divorce before withdrawing the papers. He and Annette have three children together.

Vieira has been married to husband Richard M. Cohen since 1986. The couple has three teenage children.

As both begin to laugh, Vieira tried to divert attention from her question. "Anyway...I'm sorry," replied Vieira. "Geez."

"The average age -- let's just start this show over," said Lauer. "On average in this country women get married at 26, men at 28.  Those are the averages. But how does your age impact your choice of a mate, and your chances for living happily ever after?  Probably a more important question.  We'll get into that later."
