Alexandra Burke is working on a new sound for her second album, which is half complete.
The 'Broken Heels' hitmaker said she's taken a break from recording the follow up to debut 'Overcome' with Lady Gaga producer RedOne to tour, but is excited about the sound she's working on for it.
She said: "I'm taking a break because of the tour. But I'll go back in with RedOne for all of March.
"A second album should not sound like the first. People want to hear you better yourself and hopefully I'll better myself. That is going to take hard work and time."
The 22-year-old singer added despite being a pop artist, her record label, Syco, don't stifle her individuality, and she is very much in control of her own image.
She added: "As long as you do what you want to do there isn't really an issue.
"Labels like it when artists want to be individuals and not follow the trend. I hope that people can see I have been myself and given you guys what I think is great music, which portrays me as an artist and gets my personality across."
Alexandra is presently on tour across the UK.
