Twelve trucks carrying supplies to Western forces in Afghanistan were hijacked by militants as they travelled along the Khyber Pass in north-west Pakistan.
According to reports the trucks were hijacked in four separate places along the stretch of road. An estimated 60 masked gunmen, believed to have ties to the Taliban, took part in the seizure of trucks that were carrying supplies to troops in Afghanistan. The Khyber Pass is used by about 350 trucks a day to transport material to forces.
Officials have said the trucks hijacked did not contain weapons or ammunition.
