Beyonce Knowles will star in a remake of 'A Star Is Born'.
The 29-year-old star is in talks to take on the role of an aspiring singer who falls for an older rock star in the movie, which will be directed by Clint Eastwood and his producing partner Rob Lorenzo.
No announcement has been made on the male lead but Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr. and 'Mad Men's' Jon Hamm have all been linked with the role.
Will Fetters wrote the script for this new Warner Brothers version while Bill Gerber, Jon Peters and Basil Iwanyk are set to produce.
This will be the fourth remake of the movie ,with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson starring in the most recent version in 1976, Judy Garland and James Mason played the lovers in 1954 while the original featured Janet Gaynor and Frederic March.
Clint Eastwood is currently working on 'J. Edgar' starring Leonardo Dicaprio as the controversial FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover. The project also features Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas and Judi Dench and is set to start filming this spring.
Beyonce has previously starred in musical movie 'Dreamgirls' in 2006 and portrayed legendary singer Etta James in the 2008 film 'Cadillac Records'.
