Hoff's accent trouble

David Hasselhoff is having trouble understanding 'Britain's Got Talent' contestants' accents.

The 58-year-old Hollywood star - who joins actress Amanda Holden and comedian Michael McIntyre on the judging panel - has admitted he doesn't know what half the acts are saying to him, and has particular trouble speaking to people from Newcastle, Ireland and Scotland.

He confessed: "I was speaking to this Scottish woman and I said, 'You have a beautiful accent, but I have no idea what you just said'."

Meanwhile, the US star has also been advising hopefuls to let God help them through their auditions, telling performers that having faith will lead to success in the show.

An audience member recently explaiend: "A lot of the people he was saying it to seemed pretty baffled by it and wondered whether it was some kind of holy order.

"Still, it seemed to work wonders on some of the wannabes who became more relaxed. It was certainly very odd but he made people laugh, as he has such a presence."
