Jennifer Metcalfe's DOI injuries

Jennifer Metcalfe says taking part in 'Dancing On Ice' is ruining her body.

The 'Hollyoaks' star - who made it through to the final line-up after narrowly avoiding elimination in last week's triple skate-off - admits she is covered in bruises as training for the ITV1 show is such physical work.

Jennifer - who is partnered with professional skater Sylvain Longchambon - said: "I'm covered in bruises from head to toe. I look horrendous naked. I was posing for some photographs earlier and suddenly saw my legs, they're black and blue at the minute. I had to keep twisting and turning to keep them hidden.

"My arms aren't much better. Sylvain is having to find even more weird and wonderful ways to hold on to me when we dance because of all the injuries."

Jennifer says she is determined to do well in the show as she knows her late father Colin - who died from cancer when she was 15 - would have been proud.

The 27-year-old beauty told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Dad was my best friend. I'd love for him to be in the crowd to see me on Dancing on Ice, or to see me on television every day on 'Hollyoaks'.

"Sadly he's not. But I like to think he's looking down on me from somewhere, watching. He was really supportive when I was into baton twirling as a child.

"Everything that happened made me stronger. A part of me feels that if I can put a smile on my face every day, even without my dad, then I can deal with anything. I'm very lucky because I'm still surrounded by a perfect set of family and friends."

'Dancing on Ice' is on ITV1 tomorrow at 6.10pm and 9.30pm.
