Peter Eastgate Becomes Youngest World Series of Poker Champion in No-Limit Texas Hold’em Main Event

The World Series of Poker crowned its newest champion early Tuesday morning as 22-year-old Peter Eastgate turned a wheel straight into $9,152,416 after besting Ivan Demidov’s two pair.

 

Eastgate, a Danish national, became the youngest champion in the history of the World Series of Poker no-limit Texas Hold’em. Phil Hellmuth was 24-years-old when he captured his first title in 1989.

 

Eastgate had a 7-to-1 chip advantage when he went all-in and Demidov pushed his chips in.
