Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Sends Parliament Bill to Extend Presidential Term to Six Years

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev hasn’t been in office more than a year into his four-year term but has already sent a bill to parliament that would extend the presidential term to six years.

It was unclear if the bill would extend Medvedev’s term or would begin following the next election.

Medvedev has said an extended presidential term would help in pushing through reforms.
