The Farmers Insurance Open, which takes place January 27-30, brings the focus of the golf world to San Diego, the home of the U.S. Putting Tour's Tour Championship in September.
The USPT Tour Championship will take place just 15 miles north of Torrey Pines at The Crossings at Carlsbad, a city-owned course in Carlsbad, California. The tour championship is scheduled for September 24-30.
"San Diego County has long been known as the western home of golf with the presence of the major golf equipment manufacturers," said Jim Hartley, USPT president. "Along with the Farmers Insurance Open, the U.S. Putting Tour's Tour Championship brings even more attention to this region as a mecca for golfers and golf fans."
The
putting championship will mark the culmination of the U.S. Putting Tour's first season. It will feature competitors who enter the championship directly and those who qualify at one of several international official qualifying events.
The USPT also provides the San Diego-based golf companies with an ideal
golf sponsorship opportunity that delivers local, regional, national and international exposure among golfers. Both title sponsorship and presenting sponsorship of the tour and the championship are being made available.
The USPT's
putting tournaments give all golfers an opportunity to win the title of America's Best Golfer. Men and women will compete together for this title. Everyone 13 years of age and older are eligible to enter.
More information on the sponsorship opportunity and the tour championship are available at the U.S. Putting Tour website or by emailing info@usputtingtour.com.
