White Lies say people assume they are boring.
The 'Bigger Than Us' group say people always expect them to be uninteresting simply because very little is known about the three members - singer and guitarist Harry McVeigh, bassist Charles Cave and drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown - but they are happy with this because it lets their music speak for itself.
Harry said: "Because people don't know about us on a personal level, because there's mystery there, they assume that we're really boring and therefore we make boring music.
Jack added: "I think people love us because they love our music first."
The focus on the music means the group don't have to deal with the pitfalls of celebrity, but it also means they don't have a bulging mailbag to deal with.
Jack added to NME magazine: "As a group of people we don't receive large amounts of fan mail or attention from fans. That's not a son story, that's how it is. That's not the kind of band we are."
White Lies second album, 'Ritual', is out now.
