Israeli Troops Clash with Palestinian Militants along Gaza Border, Four Killed

Israeli troops engaged in a gun battle with Palestinian militants along the Gaza border on Wednesday, leaving four Palestinians dead.

According to reports the fighting began after the Israeli Defense Force noticed gunmen attempting to place an explosive device near a security fence in the central Gaza Strip. An Israeli armored vehicle then crossed into the area at which time gunfire was exchanged.

The Palestinians killed were identified as members of Hamas.
