Steven Arnold blames crowd for DOI exit

Steven Arnold has blamed being put off by the crowd for his early 'Dancing On Ice' exit.

The former 'Coronation Street' actor - who became the fifth celebrity to be voted off the ITV1 show last night (23.01.11) - admitted while the audience did distract him from his skating routine, he felt judges Jason Gardiner, Emma Bunton and Robin Cousins were too "harsh" by awarding just seven points for his effort.

He explained: "You get out there and you hear the crowd shouting stuff. It does side-track you a little bit."

"I thought I improved quite a bit from week one to week three and I got the same amount of points so I thought they were a bit harsh that way. That's what the judges are there for and that's what they gave me."

However, Steven - who was partnered alongside Russian skating champ Nina Ulanova - admitted he "made a mistake" by sleeping in and missing an important training session.

He added to ITV1's 'This Morning': "I don't think that did me any favours whatsoever. I slept in and I made a mistake I did sleep in and I missed the choreography, but I worked so hard two weeks after that I was skating like four, five, six hours every day so I did make up for it in that respect.

"But I shouldn't have slept in and I did."
