Crocodile eats mobile phone

Ukrainian zookeepers realised a crocodile had eaten a mobile phone when its stomach started ringing.

The scaly beast - named Gena - is believed to have swallowed the gadget when a visitor stretched out her arm to take a photograph of him on her Nokia phone, and accidentally dropped it into the croc's pen.

However, when she told staff at the Dnipropetrovsk aquarium what had happened they didn't believe her - until they heard ringing coming from inside the reptile.

Now the zoo is worried about Gena, who hasn't eaten or had a bowel movement in four weeks and is swimming less than usual.

He will be taken for an X-Ray if he continues to refuse food.
