Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale Scene of Apparent School Shooting, One Student in Hospital, Second in Custody

Details surrounding an incident at Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Dillard High School remain unclear as there has been no confirmation of a shooting inside the school but one female student has been taken to a hospital and a second female student has been taken into custody.

Reports of shots fired brought a swarm of police to Dillard High School at which time a female student was found unconscious by a snack machine inside the school. She was rushed to a local hospital and has been listed in critical condition.

Police have not said anything about gunshots at the school but did say a female student had been taken into custody and a gun had been confiscated.

Dillard High School was under lockdown for a brief period of time but it was determined that the incident was isolated and classes resumed.
