Adele said Jay-Z "smells like money" when she met him.
The 'Rolling In The Deep' hitmaker said going to the Grammy awards in 2009 was a surreal experience, where she met some big stars, and joked that rapper Jay -estimated to be worth some $450 million - had a "delicious" scent of cash.
She told Q Magazine: "The whole Grammy's thing was so weird. I was in the hallway waiting to go in and Paul McCartney kept walking past.
"Standing in a queue with Jay-Z, Kanye West and will.i.am. It was like an actual dream. I felt so out of place. Jay-Z smells delicious. He smells like money!"
Adele also released her second album, '21', yesterday (24.01.11) and said it was inspired by a split from her boyfriend, which she feels somehow lucky for, as it helped inspire some of the songs she wrote.
She said: "I'm lucky. Before I met my ex, I was panicking, thinking what was I going to write my second album about; hotels and air miles? No one can relate to that.
"So I'm very lucky that I met him and I'm lucky we broke up as well."
