Diane von Furstenberg recovering after ski accident

Diane von Furstenberg won't let her recent skiing injury affect her New York Fashion Week show.

The 64-year-old fashion designer was enjoying a ski break with her husband Barry Diller when an inexperienced skier lost control and crashed into her, injuring Diane's face and ribs.

She told WWD: "Barry and I were skiing happily. Some Brazilian man, who could not ski, lost control and went straight at me, hitting me badly on my face and ribs (with his camera). I went to the emergency room and then flew to UCLA. I look like Mike Tyson on his worst fight. Broken nose and some light facial fractures.

At home in L.A. now waiting to heal. Will be staying here the week because I have my children and grandkids. I guess it could have been worse.but it does NOT look pretty."

However despite her injuries the iconic businesswoman is remaining upbeat and revealed her trusted creative director Yvan Mispelaere is busily preparing for Fashion Week - beginning February 10 - in her absence.

She said: "Thank god I have Yvan Mispelaere in the sample room."
