Louis Walsh 'doesn't care if sacked from X Factor'

Louis Walsh "doesn't care" whether he's sacked from 'The X Factor'.

Dermot O'Leary - host of the ITV1 talent show - thinks the Irish judge is such an integral part of the series that it couldn't continue without him, but believes Louis wouldn't tone down his behaviour even if it lead to him being sacked.

He explained: "Louis I think now just doesn't care whether he's sacked or not. The thing is, I don't think we can make the show without Louis, he's so much fun."

However, Dermot added that the cheeky judge - who sits on the panel alongside Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue - can procrastinate when making decisions as to who should leave the show in the weekly vote.

He said: "I just feel for him because we always seem to go to him to make the hardest decision, you know, it's always for the crucial decision - but, invariably, if you ever have to hurry up because you're going to fall off air, he will take an age."

Despite being one of the main names in the frame for the job as host of the first ever US 'X Factor', the 37-year-old presenter has "made peace" with the possibility a high-profile US name may be chosen for the role instead.

Speaking to Christian O'Connell on Absolute Radio, Dermot added: "I'd like to give it a go, but I've made peace with the fact it might not happen. It probably won't happen. Simon can't get this wrong, he's got to get the judges right first, so then it's down to whether they want a UK host or they want a US host.

"It's all sort of still up in the air. The important thing is it's a huge decision they can't get wrong."
