Facing DUI Charges

Cecil R. Conner Jr.  who has been charged with a DUI is bent on proving that he is innocent though he killed a child. This may be a tough sell unless the child just ran out in front of him. If that is the case, then he will just be charged with the DUI. But that is not the case. This man, who has a tattoo on his neck and looks decrepit, has to prove that he called someone ahead of time to pick up the child. This is a very strange case.

A Terrible Decision and Predicament

The child that died in the accident was put in harm’s way since the mother was driving on a suspended license and hence decided to let Cecil drive despite him being intoxicated. Cecil, who was drunk could not operate the car with the necessary acumen crashed into a tree. Trees usually win this battle. Cecil was unfit to drive and why the mother could not detect this is incredible. She will be scarred for life. Cecil’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

The Consequences have been Enhanced

DUI crimes are serious crimes and the public has increased the penalties against an individual involved in cases such as these. DUI charges cannot be avoided or ignored and the mildest punishment can include treatment at a rehabilitation center. But, many times, nowadays, offenders face harsher punishments.

No Sympathy

DUI lawyers, who are sometimes referred to DWI lawyers, help people when they have been charged with a DUI. DUI lawyers can perform magic in the courtroom but for clients like Cecil, that may be a tall order; certainly when a child’s life has been taken. This is a tough case and even a DUI lawyer must cope with the lack of public sympathy for his client.
