Mitch Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix Experience Drummer, Found Dead

Mitch Mitchell, the drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience of the 60s, was found dead in his hotel room early Wednesday morning. Mitchell was the group’s last surviving member. He was 61.

Hendrix died in 1970 of a drug overdose. Bass player Noel Redding died in 2003.

Mitchell’s body was found by a Portland Benson Hotel employee. Authorities believe he died of natural causes. An autopsy is being performed to determine his exact cause of death.
