Kasabian to debut new material

Kasabian are to debut new material on an "intimate" tour this spring.

The 'Fire' rockers have been writing the follow up to their 2009 album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' since last year and promised to play new songs when they next hit the road.

Frontman Tom Meighan said he was particularly excited about one track guitarist Serge Pizzorno has written to replace their traditional set closer.

He told NME magazine: "We're going to go back on the road in April or May, and we're going to be doing the small shows again - 1,000, 2,000 people a night.

"I think we'll play two or three new songs. Serge has written a song we can end on now apart from 'LSF' too. Maybe that's just me putting my b***s on the table, but I hope we can do that."

Tom has previously talked about how the group have been planning an "old school grunge" sound for their fourth album.

He said: "There's one song that sounds like Nirvana, which is really grungy, a big riff. It's nothing like what we've done on this record, it's really old school grunge.

"There's also a lot of Pink Floyd, 'Dark Side Of The Moon', piano-based songs at the minute."
