Spokesman for Family of Casey Anthony Quits, Cites “Erratic Behavior”

Larry Garrison, the spokesman for the family of Casey Anthony since August, has quit after expressing frustration with what he called “erratic behavior.”

Garrison had been hired by the family shortly after Casey Anthony became the focus of attention in the case of her missing daughter Caylee Anthony. As spokesman for the family Garrison was to speak on their behalf when addressing the media but he stated over the past several months it became increasingly difficult to carry out his job.

That difficulty apparently arose not from the family but from others as Garrison stated, “It is my opinion that others have manipulated them into situations that would not dignify the family. I can no longer be part of that behavior. I wish them all the peace and resolution they so deserve. The truth always comes out in the end, and in this case, 'The truth is better than the spin.'"

It is not clear who Garrison was addressing but the family’s attorney, Mark Nejame, dismissed Garrison’s resignation stating that it was only made after he had been told he was being fired. According to Nejame, Garrison had been fired for taking money for interviews and providing news outlets with material about the case.

Casey Anthony remains in jail awaiting her murder trial scheduled for January. The 22-year-old mother continues to deny any involvement in the disappearance of 3-year-old Caylee Anthony and has stood by her story that she dropped her daughter off with a babysitter and when she returned both were gone.

Caylee Anthony has been missing since June but Casey didn’t file a police report until July. After a brief period of time investigators began to focus on Casey as a suspect and quickly found DNA evidence that pointed to her involvement.

Evidence of human decomposition was found in the trunk of a car driven by Casey Anthony and hair strands belonging to Caylee were found in the trunk as well. Investigators also found damaging evidence on a computer used by Casey Anthony that indicated she had been searching for information about chloroform. Police found an undisclosed amount of chloroform in the car and investigators have theorized she used it to knock her daughter out.

Despite several searches the body of Caylee Anthony has yet to be found.
