#1 Alabama Crimson Tide will face SEC West rival Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday at 7:45pm in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide (10-0) have clinched their spot in the SEC Championship game, but cannot fall in their next two games if they aspire to make it to the BCS National Championship. They have to avoid a third consecutive loss to Mississippi State (3-6) in order to do that.
Last week, Alabama clinched the top spot in SEC West in a 27-21 overtime victory against the LSU Tigers. They will face the Florida Gators, the SEC East champions, in the SEC title game on Dec. 6.
Against LSU, John Parker Wilson was 15-for-31 for 215 yards, connecting with freshman Julio Jones seven times for 128 yards. Junior Glen Coffee had 26 rushes for 126 yards and a TD to top the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the first time.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban, one of the most recognizable coaches in college football, appears to be early in his goal to take the Tide to the top of the rankings.
