A British pensioner drove into a church because his in-car navigation system told him to.
The 76-year-old man and his wife spent the night in hospital with minor injuries after their satellite navigation device told them to turn off a road in South Germany, sending them crashing into the building, writing off their car.
A police spokeswoman described the couple as "confused", adding: "They didn't notice that the navigation system was faulty."
The crash cost $33,000 worth of repairs to the rural church, including damage to its foundations and a picture that fell off the wall.
