Emile Hirsch joins Motel Life

Emile Hirsch has signed up to appear in 'The Motel Life'.

The 'Milk' actor will play a leading role in the Alan and Gabriel Polsky-produced project about two brothers who flee from a hotel room in Reno after getting involved in a hit-and-run accident.

No director or script writer has yet been hired, and the Polsky's are also looking to find another male and female lead for the project.

It is expected to be shot later this year.

It will be the first project for some time for Hirsch, who has largely disappeared from cinema screens in recent years.

The 25-year-old actor last appeared in 2009's 'Taking Woodstock' following his performance as gay rights activist Cleve Jones in Gus Van Sant's 'Milk'.

However, he has a number of pictures coming out in 2011 including alien invasion movie 'The Darkest Hour' and comedy drama 'Killer Joe' with Matthew McConaughey.

He is also expected to star in crime drama 'Hamlet', directed by Catherine Hardwicke.
