Google Hiring 6,200 in 2011

The search engine giant is at it again. When companies were cutting down the workforce in 2008 through 2010, Google did not pull out the plug on new incumbents. Keeping the momentum intact, Google is on yet another hiring spree and is expected to hire close to 6,200 people in the year 2011. Their success is incredible and this is wonderful news for the communities around Google’s offices.

Facebook Spoils the Fun

The next big question is, in what departments the hiring will be and the answer is, everywhere. Every department will enjoy this hiring spree. Unlike most other tech firms, Google follows a completely different hierarchical approach. Rather than having a huge team for each function, the company prefers to break down the teams in very small units that function as start-ups. This allows the employees to do what they are best at. This probably is also the reason why employees are quite loyal to Google for long durations. However the same thing cannot be said for the top level executives of Google. FaceBook recently has been pilfering some of the key people at Google giving Google a run for its money. Google also has several offshore divisions in low cost destinations like India.

Making it Easier

The practice of bringing in offshore talent is not new. Companies like Microsoft, CISCO, Accenture, and many more have been doing this for a long time. Immigration lawyers working for these companies take care of the documentation so that the transition is as seamless as possible. Lots of times, immigration lawyers also help the companies in streamlining the process so that financial overheads are avoided. Thus, if yours is a tech firm and wants to hire people from overseas, having a battery of immigration lawyers on your side is extremely important. It could be financially prudent.
