Toyota Recalls Cars Again

After suffering massive losses a year back, the Japanese auto giant is again recalling a huge number of 1.7 vehicles in order to rectify a technical glitch that may be affecting them. According to the company engineers, a fuel pressure gauge that has been installed faultily can vibrate and come off while the vehicle is in motion. This in turn may lead to fuel leakage and a subsequent fire in the engine compartment of the affected vehicle.

Going all the Way

Though most of the affected vehicles – 1.3 million to be precise – are in the Japanese market, its luxury brand vehicles, totaling around 265,000 in the U.S. and the Europe that also need to be recalled. The company reaffirms its customers by saying that no accidents or deaths have been reported due to this particular glitch. However there have been a few instances of complaints from North American and Japanese customers in this regard. Taking no chances, the company has decided to call all the vehicles that might be affected.

A Fuel Pipe Concern

Dealers have been instructed to check the vehicles and take precautionary steps that also include replacing the entire assembly. Around 144,100 vehicles also have a fuel pipe issue that can easily be taken care of.
