Glasvegas' guitarist Rab Allan threatened to break the legs of a man who "looked at" their new female drummer.
The Scottish rocker and his bandmates - singer James Allan and bassist Paul Donoghue - feel protective of Swedish Jonna Pofgren, who joined the band in December last year, and said they would do whatever they can to make her feel comfortable in the band.
Rab said: "It must be difficult for someone coming in, whether she's from Sweden or Scotland. But I guess we feel very protective of her already, though it's only been a month or two.
"I've already threatened someone that I was going to break his legs if he looked at her."
James - who is Rab's cousin - added: "I think I'm over-compensating, just like, 'Are you OK? Are you OK?'"
Jonna admits she sees the advantage of a group being so tightly-knit but she thinks her arrival has given them a fresh edge.
She added to NME: "It's quite good that everyone knows each other so well because they know where they have each other. Because everything is so new to me, it's good that something is ordinary to someone."
