Christine Bleakley does Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

Christine Bleakley donned a huge gypsy wedding dress on 'Daybreak' this morning (27.01.11).

The 31-year-old presenter - who co-hosts the show alongside Adrian Chiles - wore one of the flamboyant dresses featured in Channel 4 documentary series 'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings', to show viewers how unruly the ostentatious gowns can be.

Mother and daughter team Norma and Emma Green - who made some of the dresses featured in the show - explained it would usually take half an hour to strap a girl into the gown, but had only 10 minutes to fit Christine in the huge skirt, which puffed out to a radius of around two metres.

As Christine struggled onto set, she joked: "My other half is currently running a mile, you know that?"

The dress puffed out to take up most of the sofa, leaving only Christine's face visible over the top as she sat next to a bewildered Adrian

She added: "I've still got my jeans on just in case - honestly It feels about five or six stone (70lb to 84lb), my hips have already got little cuts in them, isn't that incredible?

"So fair play, as we say in Ireland, to anyone who can wear a dress like this."
