AP Top 25 College Basketball Schedule: Several Teams Begin Season Friday
Several of the top 25 college basketball teams in the AP Poll begin their college basketball schedules on Friday.
In total, eleven of the AP Top 25 teams will have their season openers, led by four top 10 teams including UConn and Pitt.
In the Big East Conference, #2 Connecticut Huskies will take on Western Carolina, #6 Pittsburgh Panthers host Fairleigh Dickinson, #17 Marquette play Houston Baptist and #25 Villanova Wildcats face Albany.
The remaining top 10 teams in action are #8 Texas Longhorns and #10 Purdue Boilermakers. Texas faces Stetson, while Purdue plays Detroit-Mercy.
Of the remaining teams in the top 25 rankings, #15 Arizona State plays Mississippi Valley State; #19 Florida Gators faces Toledo; and #24 Wake Forest Demon Deacons hosts North Carolina Central.
Two of the nation's premier players will also be on hand on Friday's schedule. Blake Griffin will lead #14 Oklahoma Sooners against American, while Stephen Curry and his #20 Davidson Wildcats host Guilford.
