TV stars attempt to break kazoo world record

Miranda Hart, Jenny Eclair and Emma Kennedy are joining over 50 other celebrities in an attempt to break a world record.

The TV personalities will get together to form the largest kazoo ensemble on the planet as part of Radio 3's 'Big Red Nose Show' for Comic Relief to raise money for disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa.

Other stars to attend the official Guinness World Record attempt include Stephen Mangan, Tracey-Ann Oberman, Richard Bacon and Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

They will play the buzzing instruments - which have to be talked or sung into to produce their sound - alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra and kazoo group Masters of the Kazooniverse to perform classics such as 'The Dambusters March' and 'Ride of the Vlakyries'.

Miranda - who recently picked up three gongs at the British Comedy Awards - said she's looking forward the event which will take place on March 18.

She said: "It's fantastic how many people are taking part in this brilliant fundraising event. It's going to be a real spectacle. I just need to work out what a Kazoo actually is, and then work out how to play it. It's fun even saying 'Kazoo' so I can't wait."
