Two British students have spent $560 launching a video camera into space.
Alex Baker and Chris Rose - who are studying at PhD level at the University of Sheffield - managed to record images of the earth's curved surface from the very edge of space, spending less than the cost of a second-hand car.
They obtained the pictures using a helium-filled weather balloon attached to a parachute and GPS tracking device.
The result of the balloon's two hour and 50 minute flight has been shared on video-sharing website YouTube in a post that also includes advice on how to make your own space recording.
