A Pakistani man was arrested in Barcelona, Spain this week for his involvement in a ring that created forged passports. Spanish police originally busted the ring in December, arresting 10 suspects in Barcelona and Thailand. Authorities have been looking for the eleventh suspect, Malik Imtanan Sarwar, since December. He was taken into custody on Thursday.
The ring stole passports mostly from Barcelona tourists. The passports were sent to Thailand to be forged before they were sent to clients. Many of the clients were terrorists linked to al Qaeda. Sarwar, 30, helped secure funds for the operation and send the passports to Thailand.
