Sam Riley's movie dance dare

Sam Riley was paid $50 to dance in his new movie.

The 31-year-old actor - who shot to fame following his portrayal of late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in 'Control' - was dared to replicate the singer's famous jerky stage moves in the background of a scene in his latest film 'On the Road', but is still not sure if he will receive payment.

He said: "I've been asked to do 'the Ian Curtis dance' a few times. There's a party scene in 'On the Road', which I've just finished filming. One of the assistants said he'd give me $50 if I managed to do the Curtis dance in the background.

"I need to see the final cut to find out if I've won."

Sam also admitted people often ask him to perform Joy Division tracks on karaoke but he hasn't yet done so, preferring more mainstream song choices.

He told Q magazine: "I've been asked to do it a few time since 'Control' but I've never done it, mostly because it's quite rare to find a Joy Division track on karaoke.

"I usually do 'Viva Las Vegas' - bit more of a party tune than 'Candidate'."
