AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #7 Penn State Nittany Lions Drop Indiana Hoosiers in Big Ten Battle

Daryll Clark was 20/36 passing for 239 yards passing and two touchdowns, Derrick Williams totaled 123 yards rushing and receiving and scored a pair of TDs and the #7 Penn State Nittany Lions (10-1, 6-1) defense limited the Indiana Hoosiers (3-8, 1-6) to just 180 yards of offense in a 34-7 victory in a Big Ten battle on Saturday.

After a scoreless first quarter the Nittany Lions got on the board early in the second when Clark hit Williams on a 39-yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 lead. Indiana answered with a 57-yard touchdown run from Marcus Thigpen to even the score and it took a Kevin Kelly 32-yard field goal with 4 seconds left to give Penn State a 10-7 halftime advantage.

Things went a bit more smoothly for the Nittany Lions in the third quarter as Evan Royster scored on a 19-yard run, Kelly added a 36-yard field goal and Clark hit Deon Butler on a 6-yard touchdown pass as Penn State built a 27-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Penn State tacked on another seven points when Williams scored on a 36-yard touchdown run and Indiana had absolutely no offense to counter the Penn State scoring.

The win keeps Penn State’s chance of a Big Ten title alive and with a win next week against Michigan State they will lock it up. Indiana will finish off their season with Purdue next week.
