AP Top 25 College Football Scores: #3 Florida Gators Roll Over #24 South Carolina Gamecocks in SEC Clash

Tim Tebow was 13/20 passing for 173 yards and two touchdowns and added 39 yards rushing and a score, Percy Harvin rushed for 167 yards and a pair of TDs on eight carries and Deonte Thompson had 66 yards receiving and a touchdown on three receptions as the #3 Florida Gators (9-1, 6-1) rolled up 519 yards of total offense in a 56-6 blowout of the #24 South Carolina Gamecocks (7-4, 4-3) 55-6 in an SEC match-up on Saturday.

The Gators got started early as they put 21 points on the board in the first quarter as Brandon Spikes intercepted South Carolina’s Chris Smelley and went 12 yards for a TD, Harvin scored on a 12-yard run and then Tebow scored on a one-yard keeper.

Florida extended their lead to 28-0 in the second quarter when Tebow hit Thompson on a 46-yard touchdown pass and the rout was on.

It didn’t get any better for the Gamecocks in the second half as Harvin took the opening handoff 80-yards for a touchdown to extend the Gators lead to 35-3 and after Ryan Succop connected on his second field goal Jeffrey Demps provided more points for the Gators when he scored from 38 yards out.

Tebow tossed his second touchdown of the game early in the final frame as he hit Alex Hernandez on a 5-yard toss and Chris Rainey wrapped up the scoring with a 3-yard run.

Florida will face Citadel next week while South Carolina takes on Clemson in two weeks.
