Brian Dowling 'insecure about popularity'

Brian Dowling is "insecure" about his popularity.

The Irish presenter - who won the second series of 'Big Brother' in 2001, as well as 'Ultimate Big Brother' in 2010 - admitted while he knows he is one of the most well-liked people on TV, he gets insecure because people expect him to be nice "all the time".

He said: "I'm certainly the most popular person who ever lived in a house on television. But it's made me more insecure because people expect me to be nice all the time.

"I'm not good at telling jokes, I don't even get jokes. I just don't take life too seriously and can take the p**s out of myself."

Meanwhile, after appearing on 'Celebrity Come Dine With Me' alongside fellow 'Big Brother' winners Brian Belo, Sophie Reade and Nadia Almada, Brian admitted he lost contact with Nadia as she had changed from the person he used to watch on the Channel 4 reality series.

He added: "I kept in touch with Brian Belo and Sophie Reade. But not Nadia. We lost contact. The Nadia that was on 'Come Dine With Me' was not the Nadia I used to watch on 'Big Brother'."
