Amanda Holden backing twin magicians for BGT

Amanda Holden has tipped a magic act to win 'Britain's Got Talent'.

The 39-year-old star - who is a member of the judging panel alongside comedian Michael McIntyre and former 'Baywatch' star David Hasselhoff - was so impressed with 37-year-old twins Gary and Paul Hardy-Brown she called them potential winners of the ITV1 show.

She told the pair during auditions in Cardiff: "This could be the first time a magic act wins the show," while her fellow judges were also taken with the magicians.

The duo, who claim to be the world's only identical twin illusionists, have previously performed for Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow and previously showcased their act at the 2009 World Magic Awards.

Speaking about their love of magic, Gary said: "One day, when no one was at home, we were rehearsing this complicated levitation and our mum came home unexpectedly from work."

Paul added: "She walked into the kitchen and nearly collapsed in amazement as my brother floated in mid-air over the kitchen table."

Amanda - who is six months pregnant with her second child - tweeted about the Cardiff auditions, saying: "Fabulous time in Cardiff! Spent two days laughing my socks off! For all the right ( and sometimes wrong reasons!)"

Meanwhile, it has been revealed former 'X Factor' contestant Shirlena Johnson - who was kicked off the ITV1 show for mental health problems - will not make it through to the next round after auditioning for 'Britain's Got Talent'.

A show insider said: "She wasn't right for the show but we wish her luck."
