Natalie Portman wants to get through awards season without falling over on the red carpet.
The pregnant 29-year-old actress was at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles last night (30.01.11), where she won the Outstanding Actress prize for her performance in dark ballet movie 'Black Swan', but rather than be nervous about giving a speech Natalie was more concerned about taking a tumble in front of photographers.
The screen beauty - who wore a flattering white Azzaro gown with sequined detail and black platform Aldo heels matched with a Roger Vivier black satin clutch bag - said: "There's so much going on, I'll just try not to trip at any point! I'm trying to protect my future child."
The brunette star - who was also named Best Actress at the Golden Globes for her portrayal of dancer Nina Sayers in the Darren Aronofsky-directed film and is up for an Oscar for the role - paired the outfit with $2 million worth of jewels from Tiffany & Co, including some very expensive earrings.
She said: "I don't want to advertise that. I feel like someone might come chop my ears off or something. I need my ears."
Natalie and her fiance Benjamin Millepied are busy planning for their new arrival but revealed they haven't decided where the baby will be born or raised.
She said: "It'll be as positive and as clean an environment as I can find. But apart from that I don't know."
