Unluckiest man in the world?

A US man struck by lightning was rushed to hospital- after previously being robbed at gunpoint, stabbed, and bitten by snakes.

Self-proclaimed "unluckiest man in the world" John Wade Agan from Florida was struck during a storm while using his landline telephone as he leaned over a metal sink.

Four years earlier he was robbed at gunpoint and locked in the boot of his own taxi, was stabbed in the chest with a butcher's knife in 2008, and in 2009 was bitten by two snakes at the same time.

Although sceptics have questioned the authenticity of his misfortunes, John, 47, insists his bad luck is real.

He said: "I don't care what people say. Any day of the week, I'll go take a lie detector test."
