O.J. Mayo Tests Positive for DHEA

These days athletes that compete in professional sports know they are held to very strict standards regarding performance enhancing supplements.

“Supplements” by definition provide something additional to help the user recover faster, have greater energy levels, more stamina, or build leaner muscle tone.

So, athletes like O.J. Mayo must take responsibility for their actions. If they use a supplement, they must know if it is on the controlled substances list for the sport they play.

The President of Health2Go, Inc., Hugh Woodward, MHA summed it up well in his comments about DHEA supplements.

"For O.J. Mayo to claim he did not know DHEA was a performance enhancer just doesn’t fly.

DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is the most abundant base buiding block for hormones in our bodies. Humans make more and more DHEA until about age 25; then produce about 2% less per year.

DHEA is very safe and very beneficial for many reasons. DHEA has not been found to have any dangerous side effects. Why would maintaining healthy levels of something our bodies make anyway be harmful?

Now, is DHEA supplementation ‘performance enhancing’? Yes. It allows for leaner muscle tone, faster recovery after workouts and reduced abdominal fat; as well as improving energy levels. So, is DHEA a ‘performance enhancer’ Yes. Should O.J. Mayo have known this? Yes."

Twist 25 DHEA supplement cream can provide noticeable advantages to help us look and feel our best and diminish many aspects of aging. But it must be used correctly. A transdermal bioidentical DHEA supplement is most effective.

Professional athletes are not allowed to use DHEA supplements because they are performance enhancing.
