The internet is abuzz with news of the SAG Award Winners. This year around there were not any inappropriate jokes cracked by any one. The whole affair was conducted with aplomb and was also very civilized. While this was not really expected, it was a pleasant change. The Golden Globes couldn’t have done it better! For the ones who liked the snazzy commentary, Ricky Gervais was very conspicuous in his absence.
Portman Wins, As Does Vergara
Natalie Portman won the SAG for the Best Actress and was left feeling more and more confident that she would eventually end up with the Oscars as well. That’s a battle for another day however. The SAG must have left Annette Bening feeling a little low and apprehensive about the coming Oscars. Perhaps Annette should have mixed in a passionate love scene with another female actress like Portman did. Annette has already won an Oscar though so that is another way to look at it.
The popular TV show Modern Family snagged the SAG as did the beautiful Sofia Vergara who plays the sizzling yet slightly eccentric Gloria in the same show. The audience has been waiting for the SAG awards for a long time now. There were also many online debates as well as voting polls to speculate on the winners.
