Pirates Seize Saudi Oil Tanker in Indian Ocean

Somali pirates off the Kenyan coast have seized a Saudi oil tanker carrying 25 crew members through the Indian Ocean.

According to reports the oil tanker, the Sirius Star, was hijacked on Saturday about 450 nautical miles southeast of the port of Mombasa. It is the largest vessel seized by pirates in the area and continues to bear evidence to the growing problem of security on the seas.

The 25 crew members are from Croatia, the UK, the Philippines, Poland and Saudi Arabia.
