Prince William to wed in military uniform

Britain's Prince William will reportedly wear a military uniform for his wedding to Kate Middleton.

The 28-year-old future king - who is currently training as a search and rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force (RAF) - is set to follow in the footsteps of his father Prince Charles and grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh by wearing a traditional military outfit for his nuptials.

Although William is a member of the RAF he can also choose to wear the uniform of the army or the navy.

A source told Hello! magazine: "Prince William did have the option to wear a normal suit but has decided to wear a military uniform. He will decide in due course which one he will choose."

His outfit is set to be made by Savile Row firm Gieves & Hawkes who have dressed dozens of the country's most distinguished historic figures including the Duke of Wellington, Lord Nelson and Sir Winston Churchill.

Prices reportedly start at £2,800 and can take up to ten weeks to make involving at least two sittings.

It has not yet been revealed who will dress Kate, 29, but British designer Bruce Oldfield is thought to be her choice after her mother and sister Carole and Pippa were spotted meeting with him at his store in London.
