Israel Opens Border Crossing with Gaza Strip to Allow Humanitarian Aid

Israel opened its border crossing with the Gaza Strip on Monday to allow 33 trucks carrying humanitarian aid into the territory.

Since Israel sealed the border two weeks ago the residents inside the Gaza Strip have experienced severe shortages and power outages.  

Hamas controls the Gaza Strip and violence over the past week have left at least 16 Palestinian militants dead.

While Israel and Hamas have agreed to a cease fire the truce is often broken by militants which led to Israel’s border sealing.
