Marathon wedding

An American couple married in the middle of a marathon.

David Upton and Molly Johnston started the Chevron Houston Marathon race as boyfriend and girlfriend but crossed the finish line as husband and wife, stopping 10 miles before the end to get hitched in front of family and friends.

The bride - who wore a white veil poking out of her running cap - said: "My sister had the crazy idea because we run so much, and we just decided, 'Why not?' "

David, who had been dating Molly for five years, added: "She figured it was the only way I was going to marry her."
